PROGRAMS

Our Foundation provides specialized equipment and resources for the five explosive detection K-9 teams within the Port of San Diego Harbor Police. These specialized dogs are primarily tasked with protecting the San Diego International Airport and its ~25M annual travelers. We proudly support  the K-9 team's training  and well-being however we can.​​​​​​​​

The San Diego Harbor Police Foundation supports specialized training for Harbor Police Officers to identify, investigate, and combat human trafficking. We promote awareness by helping educate airport staff, local businesses, hotel teams, and community members.  This training empowers frontline partners to recognize, prevent, and respond to this serious crime.  The Foundation also funded a comfortable and safe interview room at the San Diego International Airport.​​​​​

With your support, the Troubled Traveler Program helps Harbor Police officers provide compassionate aid to vulnerable individuals at San Diego International Airport, offering care, resources, and dignity to those facing crisis, displacement, or exploitation. Together, we ensure no one is left behind in their moment of need.

The Harbor Police Foundation prioritizes officer wellness by funding physical fitness programs, mental health support, and morale-building activities that keep our officers strong and resilient. Your generosity provides advanced training and equipment to ensure officers are prepared to protect everyone who lives, works, and visits our vibrant waterfront.

Our Youth & Community Outreach programs support Perkins K–8 school in a San Diego neighborhood impacted by poverty and homelessness. We enrich learning through classroom upgrades, reading support, recreational activities, and meaningful mentoring between Harbor Police Officers and students, building trust and brighter futures for the whole community. Beyond the school, we’re committed to strengthening public safety and fostering positive connections across the Port of San Diego and San Diego region.
