With 140 sworn officers, 35 civilian staff, and 6 volunteers, the Port of San Diego Harbor Police Department protects and serves the Port's five member cities - San Diego, Coronado, Chula Vista, National City and Imperial Beach. The Department provides police and marine firefighting services on and around San Diego Bay and is contracted by the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority to provide law enforcement at San Diego International Airport. The Department strives to provide superior customer service while meeting the needs of Port tenants and the public. The Foundation supports the Departments mission!

VISION

The Foundation believes that the availability of additional resources is vital to implementing superior service in order to combat terrorism, human trafficking, homelessness and mental illness.

LEADERSHIP

The Harbor Police Department considers every officer and employee a leader, in both how they handle their day-to-day police duties and how they communicate with the public. Supervisors are committed to supporting the professional growth and success of those who work for them.

VISIBILITY

The Department is entrusted with having a visible presence along the Port tidelands to deter crime and acts of terrorism. The Department is an integral part of the community, within both the Port's jurisdiction and the entire region.

PREPARATION

Harbor Police officers are prepared to immediately respond to emergencies or hazardous situations. All officers receive advanced training and equipment to ensure that they are ready to respond to any situation.
